Muscat, Oman – 1st October, 2015 – The Research Council of Oman signed today a Letter of Intent (LOI) with SAH Global to develop its SAH Oman PET & Proton center at the Innovation Park Muscat. (IPM). This represents the first Healthcare company the IPM has signed to develop a center for education, training, and research.
Coupled with imaging technologies, such as PET/CTs, MRIs and a radioisotope production cyclotron from GE, the SAH Oman PET and Proton Center will provide a new arsenal of technology to fight cancer around the GCC. The SAH Oman PET and Proton Center will also serve as a training and education center, hosting nurses, physicists, technologists, and physicians from around the world to come to Oman for training on the latest related technologies.
Innovation Park Muscat is Oman’s national initiative funded by The Research Council (TRC) of Oman, which was setup as the exclusive research and funding body and leader of R&D in the country. The IPM is a 540,000 square meter area of world-class space dedicated to research and innovation that will focus in four key areas the IPM is focusing including Healthcare, Energy, Water & Environment, and Food & Biotechnology.
